This weekend’s big US dramas

Ugly Betty - Zero Worship

Fri, 9pm, Ugly Betty, Channel 4
IT’S BACK! Betty returns after a mid-season hiatus, bolder and bett-ier than ever! Alexis is letting the power go to her head at Mode, Wilhemina is determined not to let her hostile womb stop her having a baby, Amanda’s inching closer to finding out who her father is, and Betty is trying to make a difference by arranging a plus-size fashion show. And yes, that is (not so) Lil Bow Wow rapping in the picture.

Sun, 10pm, Desperate Housewives, E4
Bree and Katherine prepare to outdo one another in the anally retentive stakes and co-organise the Founders Ball - Lynette’s reaction pretty much sums it up: “I’ve faced cancer and a tornado, but I’m runnin’ from this.” Elsewhere, Orson starts to bare all - literally and metaphorically - as guilt sets him sleepwalking round Susan’s house, and Rick leaves Tom and Lynette flustered with news of his new business venture.

Sun, 10pm, Dexter, FX
Dexter is torn between bumping off Doakes and keeping him alive, especially when Doakes lets slip a little information about Harry that Dexter never knew. Meanwhile, Lila keeps a tight rein on Angel (just what is she planning next?) and Debs realises Lundy will move on once the BHB case is closed. That’s a top bit of deduction Debs, very impressive. You could almost be a detective!
