Penny discovers Leonard has never had a birthday party before so she decides to arrange a surprise celebration with the help of the rest of the geeks. As usual, what should be relatively straightforward becomes unbelievably complicated, with plenty of sharp banter between Penny and Sheldon to keep you amused along the way.

10.40, Six Degrees, ITV1
NEW SERIES Sunday’s Lost series 4 finale may be looming large, but you can console yourselves with the fact ITV1 have kindly produced this new JJ Abrams drama to get addicted to (and of course his rollercoaster thriller Fringe is bound to reach our shores soon). Six Degrees is based on the concept that anyone on Earth can be connected to anyone else through a chain of six people, and uses a group of New Yorkers to explore the idea. It got axed in the States but hopefully ITV1 will let it run its course.
