We’ve had our Sherlock Holmes-style deerstalkers on and been investigating when HBO’s fantastic vampire drama series True Blood is coming to UK shores. The good news is that we can confirm that it’s been snapped up by the ace digital channel FX. The bad news is we’ve just learned that it’s not scheduled to air until next summer – so all you blood-thirsty fans out there are in for a bit of a wait. Thankfully, there’s plenty of great new US drama to keep us going until then, and we’ll keep you updated on all things True Blood-related until then.

Sorry Juliette, ’tis true! Though seeing as how ITV1 show Dexter after FX have screened it, perhaps there’s a chance they’ll pick up True Blood as well…? We should start a letter-writing campaign to get this ace series the recognition it deserves!
Superb news for anyone who has caught a snippet of this great series - Channel 4 have also got the rights to show it, so will be putting it on sometime later this year.
good stuff for all those who don’t have FX,especially as ITV never do a good job with their US shows.
True Blood is a great show and Stephen Moyer shines in this series and everybody believes this is his breakthrough performance. His presence in the show is truly mesmerizing.

And True Blood is launching on FX on Friday 17th July at 10.00pm. 2009!
If you’re not fortunate enough to have FX, then you’ll have to wait a little longer. Channel 4 are aiming to show it in October!

it’s been airing on Wednesdays at 10pm - it finishes soon though, and we haven’t heard yet whether they will air it again after that.

True blood season 2 is airing in the summer of 2010 on channel 4 for anyone who doesnt hav fx.

I don’t have FX either, when I found out it wasn’t on E4 anymore, I was upset, it’s on its 3rd episode now and I haven’t been able to watch one, so I have to wait so patiently, I really want to watch it! Fingers crossed it comes to ITV or Channel 4! :) x

Cannot believe that the produers of trueblood would put season 1 on channel 4 then put season 2 on fx. Wat is the point? So now we have to wait months if ye don’t have fx.
When are we getting season 3 in the UK?
Season 3 airs in the US from June 13th and there’s so far been a 9-10month gap between airdates so I’d speculate Season 3 will hit FX around Feb-March 2011 and then Channel 4 the Summer of 2011. If you can’t wait that long the DVD and Blu-ray of Season 2 comes out on Monday :)

Why does it take so long in the uk? Can’t we get hbo over here at all? At this rate it will be quicker to buy season 3 on DVD before the uk catches up! I’m waiting for the most recent book, which is released on the 10th June but a well known on line sales company can’t get it to me before the 15th! Think I’ll move to the states!

Charles, we just asked Channel 4 when they thought they’d be showing it (we used slightly more diplomatic language than your original question, which made us laugh!) and they say it is scheduled to air on Channel 4 at the beginning of September. So just semi-retro.
I can’t wait any longer than another month to see season 3 and I’m in the U.K.
I will either go and rent/buy season 3, but most people I presume will illegaly download it.
It’s totally not fair having to wait on U.K channels to air certain shows that are already being aired in U.S

I know SKY had a recent deal with HBO to air any of their series, so does this include TB3?
Season 2 is being reshown on FX now, its on tonight at 11pm…….BUT surely we dont then wait till next summer for Season 3??? If this is the case, the Season 4 will be made and on the tv’s in the US and we still have not had season 3……thats madness.
It is 1 of the most popular and well made series of all time.
Please anyone let me know what the latest information is.

Btw, I have seen a couple of episodes of Season 3;
Season 1 is brilliant, it sets the scenes and characters etc, FAB!
Season 2 is really good, great continuing stories but I felt flagged in some parts, a cuple stories were too drawn out
but
Season 3…..OMG, much, much better….absolutely a must-see, brilliant viewing and I cant wait to view it on TV

I’m an American from the good ol’ South, and I must say that when I stumbled across this site, I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think that this show would hit it off as well as it seems to in the UK. I adore this show, not only for the vampires, but for the fact that it hits so close to home for me with all the southern American culture. Y’all rock for lovin’ this, and I’m sorry you have to hold your horses for so long to see it.
Hey Tony - the latest True Blood info we have is that terrestrial viewers will be able to see season two in a couple of weeks time on Channel 4.
Season three is due to air on FX next January or February, which is a bit of a wait I’m afraid. But FX are placating us by showing AMC’s The Walking Dead in October instead.
As far as that HBO deal is concerned, FX is kind of part of the Sky group, so we’re expecting True Blood to stay where it is.
