When’s it back? Virgin 1, Wednesday 22 October
I can clearly remember where I was when I saw the first episode of the first series of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles – stuck in a traffic-jam on board a coach taking a bunch of journos to Richard Branson’s country pile to celebrate the launch of Virgin 1.
Even though it was on a tiny overhead screen and the sound quality was rubbish, we were hooked. The effects were movie-quality and Lena Headey looked great as the titular heroine. But it was Firefly’s Summer Glau, as good female terminator Cameron, who stole the show (and my heart).
Truth be told, the rest of the series didn’t quite match up to the thrills and spills of the opener. The drive-around-for-a-bit-then-hide-for-a-bit formula got a bit repetitive for our liking, but it was all slick enough and compulsive viewing for the sci-fi fans here at TV Spy Towers. The second series promises to kick off in even more spectacular fashion, with a two-hour effects-laden extravaganza which sees ex-Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson join the cast as corporate CEO Catherine Weaver.
The bit I’m most excited about, though? Summer’s gone baaaad…

About time it returned, and october 22nd isn’t bad. At least we don’t have to wait until next year.
