2. The Good Wife – Due on Channel 4 in a fortnight, the Julianna Margulies legal drama has been commissioned for a second series Stateside. Oh, as has NCIS: LA.

3. The OfficeRicky Gervais might make an appearance as David Brent in the US version of the sitcom.

4. Spartacus: Blood and SandLucy Lawless can’t wait to get her kit off in the saucy swords and sandals epic.

5. TremeDavid ‘The Wire’ Simon’s New Orleans-set show is set to launch on HBO in April.

Heroes to dumb itself down

1. Volume four of Heroes (Fugitives, due after Christmas) is going to be far less complex in its storytelling.

2. Our favourite ex-Office star Rashida Jones is joining the cast of SNL’s Amy Poehler’s new sitcom (which now isn’t a spin-off from The Office).

3. And Everyone Loves Raymond and Back to You star Patricia Heaton has a new sitcom in the works too.

4. Lipstick Jungle may not have been axed after all, it’s in a Pushing Daisies-esque limbo instead.

5. Doc Arzt has some interesting audio of the Lost producers in converstion.

Seven things we learned today | Thursday 13 November

Lipstick Jungle axed!

1. Living’s Lipstick Jungle and new Christian Slater spy drama My Own Worst Enemy have both been axed.

2. And it seems producers may be planning to wind up Prison Break in the not-too-distant future too.

3. A couple of series return dates for you: Damages is back on US screens on Wednesday, 7 January, while Nip/Tuck returns on Tuesday, 6 January. BBC and FX had better not keep us waiting…

4. A face familiar to Mad Men fans is set to pop up on Supernatural.

5. Sneaky Office temp-turned-boss-turned-secretary Ryan will be taking a leave of absence from the series while actor BJ Novak appears in Quentin Tarantino’s new film.

6. Our favourite new sci-fi series Sanctuary is one of this season’s winners and, hence, has been renewed.

7. Anthony Edwards returns to ER this week, despite his character Mark Greene being rather dead. This is how they’re going to play it.
