We’ve had our Sherlock Holmes-style deerstalkers on and been investigating when HBO’s fantastic vampire drama series True Blood is coming to UK shores. The good news is that we can confirm that it’s been snapped up by the ace digital channel FX. The bad news is we’ve just learned that it’s not scheduled to air until next summer – so all you blood-thirsty fans out there are in for a bit of a wait. Thankfully, there’s plenty of great new US drama to keep us going until then, and we’ll keep you updated on all things True Blood-related until then.

Last week we brought you news of Blood Copy, the blog that’s chronicling the seedier side of the uneasy truce between humankind and the newly out-and-proud vampires - which may be something to do with Six Feet Under scribe Alan Ball’s blood-sucking new drama series. Well, now it seems the company behind the vamps’ favourite, more ethical tipple - new synthetic blood drink Tru Blood - is stepping up its marketing campaign with banner ads around the world in China, South Korea and Russia (see below), as well as the new TV commercial above. We’re closely following this intriguing internet trail ready for the launch of HBO’s True Blood in September and will keep you updated as more facts emerge.
Has the White House really issued a statement about vampires across America deciding to out themselves? Have the bloodsuckers finally decided to make themselves known thanks to the Japanese invention of synthetic blood? And is this tempting new crimson tipple - known as Tru Blood - really being advertised on posters around the world?

Mysterious blog BloodCopy is documenting the amazing events as humans and vampires finally try to co-exist, and there’s a trail of bizarre videos all across the internet - but it seems we’ll have to wait for the full story until the series hits American screens in September.
