Heather’s Pick of the Day | Thursday 18 March

 Grey’s Anatomy - Kim Raver

9pm, The Good Wife, More4
The up-till-now absent senior partner Jonas Stern turns up at the firm in trouble, accused of drink driving, and Alicia is given the case of defending him. No pressure there, then. Meanwhile, Peter’s mistress is threatening to publish a kiss-and-tell book, and his lawyer has to do some quick thinking.

9pm, Grey’s Anatomy, Living
Kim Raver, last seen in the ill-fated Lipstick Jungle, joins the cast as Owen’s former army medic buddy who happens to be an expert in cardio surgery - but by the way she looks at Owen, it looks like she’s quite keen to break a few hearts as well. Talking of heartbreakers, Izzie’s back, but she’s not in any rush to see Alex.

10pm, Bones, Sky1 & HD
A shady group of government agents put the team into lockdown at the Jeffersonian, forcing them to conduct experiments on a mystery corpse to determine the cause of death. Booth’s locked out of the building, but it’ll take more than a couple of burly guys with guns to stop the man with the maverick belt buckle…

10pm, Brothers & Sisters, More4
It’s the day of the wedding, but it seems the gods are against this particular union - will Justin and Rebecca manage to tie the knot before the week’s out? Tommy turns up with daughter Elizabeth, breaking the custody agreement he has with Julia, causing more panic in the Walker household.

A scientist is accused of setting fire to her own lab, and it’s up to Alicia to figure out whether or not she’s guilty. Meanwhile, Zack proves he’s inherited his mother’s detecting skills when he figures out a way to find out who’s been leaving all the incriminating photos at their door.

9pm, Grey’s Anatomy, Living
Arizona takes centre stage tonight when she’s asked to perform a highly risky surgery on a 10-year-old cancer patient when his wealthy parents offer a massive donation to the hospital, and there’s tension between Cristina and Owen when she disobeys him during an operation.

10pm, Bones, Sky1 & HD
IT’S BACK! Yes, after what’s seemed like absolutely yonks, Booth and Brennan are back on our screens, tonight doing their best Mulder and Scully impressions as they investigate a dead body found near Roswell that has some spookily alien characteristics.

Kitty’s grossed out when she walks in on Nora and Simon having a shower together, the wedding causes more ructions between Nora and Holly, and Kevin’s competitive side emerges again after he and Scotty visit a fertility clinic and have to decide which should be the biological father of their future child.

With layoffs looming, Alicia is given a make-or-break case representing the daughter of absent lawfirm partner Stern, and finds herself trying to iron out the complexities of Jewish Sabbath labour restrictions with maverick young lawyer Ryan (Rescue Me’s Chris Bowers).

10pm, Brothers & Sisters, More4
Against their better judgement, Saul and Holly enter the recession-busting ‘plonk’ they’ve created into a wine festival, and are stunned when it actually does rather well. Could this mark a turning point for Ojai? Don’t count on it. Things are also looking a bit too good to be true with Nora’s latest love interest, bike-boy Simon.

10pm, Grey’s Anatomy, Living
One of the hospital’s lab technicians discovers he has an apparently inoperable tumour, and challenges Derek to take on his case. The Chief tries to put the stops on the procedure, forcing Derek to lead a surgical mutiny. The final showdown between those two can’t be far off now.

 Brothers & Sisters - The Wig Party

Alicia’s assigned the appeal of a man on death row who’s accused of killing a police officer. When she realises her  client was convicted under Peter’s regime as state’s attorney, she twigs that he has information that may help her case, and the only way she can talk to him privately is by agreeing to a conjugal visit.

10pm, Brothers & Sisters, More4
Kitty’s devastated when her hair begins to fall out as a result of the chemotherapy, while Robert gets all fired up when he realises the full extent of a rival’s bigotry. Nora meets an intriguing new love interest, who fans of The Closer will recognise as Jon Tenney, and Scotty’s dad drops a bombshell.

10pm, Grey’s Anatomy, Living
There’s pandemonium at Seattle Grace after a fire at a local hotel and, in all the confusion, a patient with apparently minor injuries dies. The Chief instigates a full-on inquisition, and the Mercy West interns show their full colours as they try to cover their tracks.

10.45pm, Hung, Channel 4
You may already have seen this on More4, but just in case… It’s a comedy drama about a down-on-his-luck teacher who realises he’s going to have to come up with a quick way of making more money, and a chance encounter makes him realise he’s got a future as an escort, owing to his being, ahem, well hung. Thomas Jane (aka Mr Patricia Arquette) takes the title role, and Anne Heche adds to the mirth.

 Modern Family - Moon Landing

8pm, Modern Family, Sky1
Minnie Driver guest stars as one of Claire’s former work colleagues who manages to give her an inferiority complex, Phil comes up with an intriguing new sales method, and Mitchell has a conflict of interest when Gloria asks for his legal advice.

9pm, The Good Wife, More4
Alicia faces another dilemma when she thinks she’s found evidence of jury tampering during a high-profile case against a pharmaceutical company. Meanwhile, Peter’s defence team ask her to testify in his appeal hearing.

10pm, Brothers & Sisters, More4
Hunky Frenchman Luc ensconces himself at Nora’s house, and soon has the whole Walker clan drooling over him. Scotty and Kevin find a potential surrogate mum, and Holly gets some shocking news…

10pm, Grey’s Anatomy, Living
Lexie and Meredith run the full gamut of emotions when their alcoholic dad shows up at the hospital in need of a new liver, and Cristina starts getting desperate about finding a surgery to take part in.

The guest stars keep on coming when Chazz Palminteri turns up as an old pal of Jay who sets off Mitchell’s gaydar, much to the annoyance of Jay. Meanwhile, Gloria gives Manny’s date a makeover, and Claire wages war against a remote control.

9pm, The Good Wife, More4
Alicia has to swallow her pride yet again when she’s asked to represent the son of a family who snubbed her after Peter’s fall from grace. It means a return to her old neighbourhood, and some painful memories of happier times…

10pm, Brothers & Sisters, More4
The newly returned Sarah tries to distract Kitty from her chemotherapy by giving her ALL the details about her steamy romance with a dashing Frenchman - guest star Gilles Marini, who’s also cropping up right about now on Nip/Tuck.

10pm, Grey’s Anatomy, Living
The redundancy axe is hanging ominously over all the residents, who respond by pushing themselves even harder than usual and refusing to leave the hospital for fear of being seen as weak. Izzie feels the pressure too, returning to work in a fetching red wig, but will it be enough to hoodwink HR about her condition?

Phil lets Luke take the blame when Claire finds a pornographic picture on their computer, Gloria has an understandably strong reaction to Jay’s latest love - a life-sized dog butler statue, and Mitchell is annoyed by Cameron when he becomes more interested in the new Hispanic gardener’s troubles than his own.

9pm, The Good Wife, More4
After its debut on Monday on Channel 4, The Good Wife’s first-see episode moves to Thursdays on More4, with repeats on C4 on Monday. Julianna Margulies’s resolve holds fast as steely but compassionate lawyer Alicia as she takes on the case of a prostitute crying rape - even though the woman may have had a dalliance with wayward husband Peter.

10pm, Brothers & Sisters, More4
Kitty plucks up the courage to tell the whole clan about her condition, but it leaks out in the usual Walker fashion, and it’s not long before Nora and Robert are at loggerheads over the best course of action. Elsewhere, Saul bumps into an old business acquaintance who seems set on causing trouble for Ojai.

10pm, Grey’s Anatomy, Living
The docs try to cope with their grief over George in different ways. Callie has taken up her new position at Mercy West, where she ends up treating a most unexpected patient; Alex becomes emotionally distant from Izzie; Cristina and Owen undergo tough-love couple therapy; and the Chief has some shocking news for everyone.

Benjamin Bratt makes a guest appearance as Javier, Manny’s unreliable dad, and his presence makes Jay extremely jealous. Over at the Dunphy household, Claire has to ask a sexy fireman to provide transport when Phil’s struck down with painful kidney stones.

9pm & 10pm, Brothers & Sisters, More4
NEW SERIES The Walkers are back and, quelle surprise, there’s a major secret at the heart of the drama. Prepare to shed a few tears as Kitty gives her family some devastating news, and then to be cheered up considerably by the appearance of Gilles Marini as Sarah’s sexy French lover.

10pm, Grey’s Anatomy, Living
NEW SERIES The second of tonight’s dramatic big hitters picks up the story from last season’s big cliffhanger, with George and Izzie both fighting for their lives, though you’d have to have serious ostrich-like qualities not to know by now which one of them pulls through. Upstairs, the Chief has more bad news to deal with too.
