If you were wondering where Dollhouse’s Dr Saunders was driving off to in such a hurry earlier this series, here’s your answer. Actress Amy Acker passed on season two of Whedon’s imprint-frenzy romp to appear in ABC’s new serial killer thriller Happy Town.
Set in a small Minnesota Town that was once the scene of a spate of mysterious kidnappings, the series follows the arrival of newcomer Henley Boone to the area. Naturally, Henley’s got a dark secret (as have a lot of residents) and seven years after the abductions stopped, a serial killer is about to begin a murderous rampage…
Admittedly, the killer goes by the name The Magic Man, which makes the following trailer a tad comical. But we’re sure we’ll get over that.
Anyway, there’s a fantastic cast lining up with Acker. Six Feet Under’s Frances Conroy, ER’s Abraham Benrubi, Mr Friendly off Lost, Sam Neill from The Tudors… Check out this trailer and prepare to be scared when the series kicks off early next year in the States.
Well, it seems ABC remember how much we all loved it too, and seem set to create an equal buzz around their brand new show FlashForward, due to air in the US on September 24th and then to air on this side of the pond mere days later, on Five.
So far, we’ve found theflashforwardexperience.com, which demands your Facebook details and then goes poking round your contacts and piccies in a most alarming manner! Unfortunately we can’t find a way to add the show’s stars Joseph Fiennes or Dominic Monaghan to our friends list yet…
Once you’ve recovered from the shock of that, you can sign up to be a part of The Mosaic Collective, an international conglomerate helpfully collating everyone’s flashfoward visions in the hope of establishing a pattern…
Let us know if you stumble across any more intriguing sites connected to the FlashForward. We’re really starting to get excited…
Fantastic news! Brand new sci-fi drama FlashForward, being touted by some as a worthy successor to Lost, will be appearing on our screens here in the UK courtesy of Five.
The drama, from ABC, has an impressive line-up of British actors - Joseph Fiennes (of Shakespeare in Love fame),Jack Davenport (Coupling and Pirates of the Caribbean), andSonya Walger (Penny from Lost), and follows the aftermath of an event that causes the entire world to black out for two minutes and 17 seconds. During this time everyone sees a snapshot of their life on a specific date six months in the future.
Here’s the trailer - we think it looks brilliant!
Well done, Five - we’ll forgive you for losing the rights to House. Just about.
