Those lovely people at the Sci Fi channel whisked us away last night to London’s Natural History Museum for a preview of the pilot episode of the V reboot.

And we were mighty impressed by what we saw – the series features a Lost/FlashForward-esque ensemble cast (many of whom you’ll recognise from other sci-fi shows) and has taken a 21st-century spin on the original with dark undercurrents of terrorism running throughout the pilot.

Sci Fi will be airing the series early next year (thus getting around the rather annoying season break that’s facing American fans), but here are five teasers to whet your appetite…

1. Remember how Elizabeth Mitchell kicked ass as the surprisingly ruthless Juliet Burke in Lost. Well, expect more of the same here. Don’t make her angry…

2. The ‘visitors’ are rather cylon-number-six-esque – great looking, perfect posture, weirdly clam and a rather creepy obsession with  superficial beauty.

3. Oh feck - why would you call one of your characters Father Jack?

4.  Along with Juliet off Lost, keep your eyes peeled for Supergirl off Smallville, the Ambassador from Firefly, Tom from The 4400 and Alpha from Dollhouse. And don’t assume that being a big sci-fi name means you’re safe in V-land.

5. Some say the Vs are evil and want to destroy humanity – but perhaps not all of the aliens are bad guys…
