3. Life on Mars US has had its first season extended.

4. Some promo shots of Seth Green and Brekin Meyer’s guest roles in Heroes have been released.

Do the hippy hippy shake – Smallville comes over all Cloverfield in new episode Bride!

Here’s the trailer for the next episode of Smallville, Bride, in which the amazing Chloe marries the rather undeserving Jimmy. And someone at Smallville HQ has clearly been watching JJ Abrams’ monster movie Cloverfield as the whole episode’s shot on a rather shakey camcorder – including our first glimpse of new big bad Doomsday. Frankly, it looks pretty awesome and we can’t wait to see it on E4 in January.

Smallville Season Seven Official Companion book winners

Official Companion Series Seven

Our competition to win one of five copies of Smallville: The Official Companion Season Seven is now closed. Thank you to all the Smallville fans who entered, and correctly said that James Marsters plays the deliciously dastardly Milton Fine.

We used our ever so mundane powers to pick the following five names out of the proverbial hat: Richard Remmer-Riley, Danielle Woodman, Claire Simpson, Diane Smith and Brian Williams. Congratulations to you all - the books will be whizzing their way to you quicksmart!

Smallville vs Heroes trump cards

The eighth series of Smallville starts next week, and it looks like the Justice League is starting to come together nicely – which is just as well really, as they’re badly needed to track down Clark after his run-in with Lex at the end of the last series.

Anyway, we got to thinking – if there was a face-off between the super-powered Smallville inhabitants and the Heroes crew, who would win? After much heated debate, we decided there was only one way to fight it out – top trumps!

Click on the images below for a closer look at the extraordinary fighting stats…

Separated at Birth?

Chloe Sullivan (Allison Mack) from Smallville, Chiana (Gigi Edgley) from Farscape and Daphne Millbrook (Brea Grant) from Heroes

We here at TVSpy towers have been wondering if Chloe from Smallville, Chiana from Farscape and Daphne from Heroes were separated at birth, or maybe they just use the same hairdresser?

Got any other look-a-likes? Let us know

Official Companion Series Seven

We love giving things away here at tvspy (and I’m not just talking about Ben and his spoilers…)

If you’re a fan of Smallville, you’ll be very excited to hear that we’ve got five copies of Smallville: The Official Companion Season Seven, courtesy of Titan Books, written by uberfan Craig Byrne. (Check out his credentials on his unofficial Smallville website, kryptonsite.com.)

The book’s got everything you could possibly need to know about the seventh run of the show, chronicling the ongoing adventures of the ever-more-adult Clark, Lana, Chloe and Lex, as well as Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen and Supergirl.

It’s packed with exclusive interviews with the cast and crew, photos, behind-the-scenes secrets, a complete episode guide, a full-colour 16-page portrait gallery and excerpts from The Daily Planet newspaper.

You’ll also be very pleased to hear that series eight of the show is coming to E4 on the 11th November. (We’ll be celebrating that with another Smallville treat next week!)

Q. Which Smallville villain does James Marsters play?

James Marsters… always the bridesmaid?

Tonight’s episode of Smallville on E4 (10pm) sees James Marsters reprise his role as supervillain Brainiac. So what, you might say…

Thursday’s episode of Without A Trace on More4 (10pm) sees Mr Marsters lighting up the screen as Detective Grant Mars. Hmm. Two guest star roles in one week?

Despite his turn as Spike ‘Billy-Idol-with bite‘ in both Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel, James has never landed that leading man role his talents so obviously deserve…
