Mad Men - Sesame Street style!

Ah, Sesame Street, first they parodied CSI with their very own RSI unit (Rhyme Scene Investigation), then they had a bash at the Desperate Housewives, with a much more entertaining Desperate Houseplants, and now they’ve taken on the Mad Men! We can’t wait to see what they make of Dexter….

Here’s their Mad Men parody:

Jon Hamm, star of Mad Men, hams it up as the ultimate baddie

 Jon Hamm as Lex Luthor

Will Ferrell’s website, Funny or Die, can be a bit hit and miss, but while poking around we found a clip of Mad Men star Jon Hamm which is definitely firmly in the former category.

We can’t embed it in our site, so we’ll just have to point you in the right direction - here is Hamm, clad in a bald cap, as Superman’s nemesis Lex Luthor, explaining why he definitely needs a bailout from the government.

Dinner with the Drapers in Mad Men

Sunday dinner ended in tears at the Draper’s in last night’s show. Betty wants Don to back her up on the discipline front (he doesn’t quite get it, though). First Bobby breaks the hi-fi, then, poor child, he spills his milk at the table. Come on Don, set a good example…

The Simpsons parody Mad Men

The 20th series of The Simpsons starts here in the UK on Sky 1 on Sunday 9 November, and begins with the latest of its Treehouse of Horror Halloween specials.

This year’s offering sees a vote-rigging scandal, an invasion by Transformer-like robots and an homage to Peanuts called It’s The Grand Pumpkin, Milhouse. The highlight, however, promises to be How to Get Ahead In Dead-Vertising, which sees Homer killing off celebrities and begins with this brilliant spoof of the opening credits to Mad Men.

Mad Men | The ultimate fan quiz

mad men group series 1

Like a nicotine fiend on 40 Lucky Strikes a day, I admit to being totally addicted to Mad Men.

There aren’t that many American shows that have gripped quite me as tightly as this award-winning drama, and persuaded me to forego an early night. Hopefully, next time around, BBC4 will consider scheduling this unmissable series in a friendlier primetime slot.

If you had the patience to stick around, this slowburner soon had you well and truly hooked. The eagerly-awaited second series began in the US last weekend to rave reviews, but, sadly, we British viewers will have to wait until early next year to see it.

Anyway, in the meantime, you can fill the void and enjoy the first series all over again on DVD, or why not try this Mad Men Ultimate Fan Quiz? Go on. It’s fun, it’s Friday and, who knows, maybe you’ll become an addict, too!

Mad Men season 2 trailer

Ho-hum. Those lucky bleeders in America will get to see this at the end of the month. We’re going to have to wait till next year…
