And it looks like he’s playing a far more subtle version of Gene Hunt than Philip Glenister in our very own British series. Perhaps all that chopping and changing behind the scenes has worked out for the best?

Despite our initial reservations, we reckon the new US version of Life on Mars might just turn out to be quite good – not as good as the original, obviously, but watchable all the same.
Now we just need a UK channel to get their skates on and buy it!
