Tim Roth has long been one of our favourite actors here at TV Spy Towers, so needless to say we were thrilled when a press release winged its way into our inbox this morning announcing that Sky1 had bought his new US drama Lie to Me.

The series, which debuted in the States last night and was described by the Washington Post as “unusually meaty, thoughtful and thought-provoking”, centres on “human lie detector” Dr Cal Lightman, a scientist who studies facial expressions and involuntary body language to discover not only if suspects are lying, but why.
