Dana Delaney, who plays Katherine in Desperate Housewives, chats with the show’s creator and executive producer Marc Cherry about which Wisteria Lane resident she’d most like to snog, which part she originally auditioned for, and why she has a secret desire to wear hooker shoes…

Everyone’s favourite Desperate Housewives will be returning to UK screens in late-February, but they’re already busy causing a stir in the US, and ABC has just released some preview clips of the 100th episode, which promises to explain a lot about the Wisteria Ladies’ past lives.
Felicity Huffman is in fine form as a heavily pregnant Lynette, and it seems neither Edie nor Gabby has ever been the shy, retiring type. Here are the two clips, and also Nicolette Sheridan talking to chat show host Ellen about life, love and lobbing. She’s got quite the arm on her!
1. James Van Der Beek looks like he’s a very naughty boy indeed in his guest gig on One Tree Hill.
2. Here’s a sneak peak of next Thursday’s sneak peak of Battlestar Galactica’s concluding season.
3. Life on Mars US has had its first season extended.
4. Some promo shots of Seth Green and Brekin Meyer’s guest roles in Heroes have been released.
5. Lynette’s mum is returning to cause more mayhem for the Desperate Housewives.
6. Three new superheroes are to touch down to deal with the Doomsday aftermath in Smallville.
1. We’ll be seeing a new side to Sun in the next season of Lost – and isn’t it strange to hear Jin speaking English in the above preview video.
2. Sarah Palin apparently won’t be appearing in Desperate Housewives.
3. Meanwhile, someone Susan loves is going to perish in the Desperate Housewives inferno.
4. The TV Addict is stalking Mark’s beau Cliff off Ugly Betty.
5. Rap star P. Diddy is going to try to better Horatio’s one-liners as a prosecutor in CSI: Miami.
If you enjoyed the ultra-glam promo clip for Desperate Housewives season 5 we posted on Friday, then grab a load of this this brilliant behind-the-scenes ‘making of’ video.
The feisty red and white teaser trailer, which uses Madonna’s cover version of Fever as its soundtrack, was filmed by top Hollywood photographer and director Peggy Sirota, and has got us majorly excited about the new series, which begins on Channel4 and E4 as soon as season 4 ends. Bring it on!
It’s no secret that season five of Desperate Housewives takes place five years in the future, that glamour-puss Gaby’s become a downtrodden mum of two, Susan has a new man, Bree and Katherine are successful celebrity cooks and that Edie is back…with BIG news…and a very skimpy swimsuit. But what’s shocked us most is the speed at which Lynette’s twin sons Porter and Preston have grown up!
Before the flash-forward at the end of season four, the boys - played by Shane and Brent Kinsman - were around eight or nine-years-old tops, but now, five years on they’re 16 and played by 20 year-old actors Max and Charlie Carver! Confused? So are we!
Anyway, enough already of the confusion - here’s an official season five promo teaser…
When’s it back? Channel 4, Wednesday 3 September
Those pesky Channel 4 schedulers really left us dangling when they took Desperate Housewives off air slap bang in the middle of the best series yet, didn’t they?
Gaby didn’t know Carlos was blind, Bree’s roof blew off and even though the poor viewers were still in the dark, after what seemed like an eternity, Adam and Dylan discovered the truth about creepy Katherine when they read that blooming note.
Now it’s back, her big old secret is finally going to be revealed in monumental style. I for one can’t wait for The West Wing’s Gary Cole to turn up as Ms Mayfair’s not-quite-as-dead-as-we thought ex-hubby. And believe us, there are even more twists in the tale than that.
The biggest shocker, though, won’t be until right at the end of the series when life in Wisteria Lane suddenly moves forward five years. But will the girls have aged at all or will they looked as botoxed-up as ever?
Anyway, that’s not for a while yet – here, first, is a little sneak peak from this Wednesday’s episode…
While we’re still waiting for Channel 4 to get round to showing the rest of the fourth series of Desperate Housewives – it’s due back at the beginning of September once Big Brother’s finished, we hear – American fans have series five to look forward to. Here’s a new trailer to whet your appetite…
OK, remember how last week we told you about the shortlists for this year’s drama and comedy Emmy awards?
Well, now, via Los Angeles Times writer Tom O’Neil’s hugely impressive Gold Derby blog, we are picking up news on the Drama Supporting Actor and Comedy Actress categories, too.
The biggest surprise in the drama actor category is that last year’s winner, Terry O’Quinn (Locke in Lost), has been snubbed. On the plus side, his co-stars Naveen Andrews (Sayid) and Michael Emerson (Ben) are included.
In the comedy actress category, there’s a trio of Desperate Housewives: Marcia Cross, Eva Longaria Parker and Felicity Huffman. The only lead cast member missing is Teri Hatcher, who has obviously done something to annoy the Emmy judges (mugging endlessly for the cameras, perhaps?). Also, rather thrillingly, our very own Anna Friel is there for Pushing Daisies. Go Anna!
We should make it clear that neither shortlist has yet been confirmed by the Emmys’ organisers, but Tom O’Neil has an enviable track record on these matters and is right more often than not.
Five from each category will make the final voting list. The names marked in red are the ones we reckon should make the final list. Let us know if you agree…

The latest craze on US telly seems to be demonstrating that the stars truly are all-singing, all-dancing buckets of talent - what with Hugh Laurie whipping out his guitar on House, and the cast of Scrubs bouncing their way through a full-blown musical episode, it seems there’s no end to their talents.
We’re all for it, especially if it means we get to see CSI’s Gil Grissom tap-dancing next season, or Dexter revealing an uncanny knack for ventriloquism.
The humble karaoke bar is one of the perfect venues for a bit of showing off in a show - here are some of our favourites, and a couple of golden oldies too. Feel free to add to our list.
Brothers & Sisters Sarah and Kevin strut their stuff. Kev, don’t give up the day job…
Desperate Housewives Susan puts her own spin on a Frank Sinatra classic.
Bones The normally sedate Bones shows she does know how to have fun. Ok, we know it’s not the real audio, but it seems the folks at Fox aren’t keen on anyone accessing that… (they don’t know how to have fun!)
Hugh Jackman Hugh appears on the regular karaoke slot on the Ellen DeGeneres show. Ellen, we salute you - you can get just about anyone to do just about anything!
And now, two old classics from Ally McBeal - the champion of impromptu singing - as Robert Downey Jr and James Marsden reveal their vocal talents.
