Competition time | Win CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Season 9 on DVD

Season 9 on DVD competition

It’s hard to believe that the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation forensics team have now been on our screens since October 2000!

With 200 episodes in the bag, the Vegas crew are still going strong, albeit without William Petersen’s insect geek Gil Grissom at the helm.

Now on season 9, regulars Catherine, Nick and co are led by newcomer Dr Raymond Langston (Laurence Fishburne), as they doggedly investigate the seedy underbelly of the glitzy US city. Carrying on from the cliffhanger at the end of the previous season, the thirst for revenge leaves one team member in grave danger, and another dead. As they deal with the aftermath of the murder, the CSIs are forced to confront personal issues of their own that leave them wondering exactly who they can trust.

For the first time ever, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is available to buy in one complete season, as Season 9 is released on 1st March - and it’s also going to be in Blu-ray high definition.

To celebrate, TVSpy has got hold of three copies of the DVD. To be in with a chance of winning, just answer this question:

First look at CSI: Trilogy – Blending the best of Vegas, Miami and New York

They’ll be plenty of off-the-cuff one-liners, talking VERY slowly and taking things VERY personally this November on US telly screens when crime scene connoisseurs Laurence Fishburne, David Caruso and Gary Sinise come together on CSI: Trilogy.

This three-part special brings all three CSI outlets together as they investigate human trafficking and organ harvesting – and Battlestar favourite Mark Sheppard will show up at some point too. Here’s the trailer…

Relive Grissom’s final moments in CSI

Yes, last night was Gil Grissom’s final night working for the Vegas CSI crew.

Did you watch it? Did you cry? Did you rush online afterwards to track down that quirky bean-can hat Grissom was sporting?

We thought we’d let you relive the final moments, right up to the big old smooch in the jungle. It was nice to have some resolution for the pair, but we want to know how many minutes Gil managed to hold out for before he rushed back to poke that weird bug on the leaf, and also who on earth taught Sara to hang up t-shirts like that?

Welcome to Vegas! The L Word’s Lauren Lee Smith joins CSI

We’re getting proper excited about the ninth series of CSI, which is arriving on Five in a matter of mere days! Time’s running out for Warrick, as evidenced by the tearjerker of a trailer we found yesterday - but there will be a few new faces to try and ease the pain. One of them is ’sassy’ newbie Riley Adams, who’s played by The L Word’s Lauren Lee Smith. Here’s Lauren to tell us more:

And here are a few clips of Riley in action (look out for ER’s Alex Kingston, who plays a psychiatrist in the ‘Art Imitates Life’ episode):

Hopefully Riley will fare better than rookies Holly Gribbs (Chandra West), who didn’t make it past the pilot, and Ronnie Lake (Jessica Lucas) who simply seems to have disappeared…

First look at Laurence Fishburne in CSI

We have to admit we were a bit skeptical at first but, actually, this looks like it might turn out to be quite a coup for CSI… Laurence Fishburne makes his debut as William Petersen’s putative replacement, Dr Raymond Langston, in an episode airing in the States in December. UK viewers will have to wait until March.

One for all you CSI fans… Sara Sidle’s back!

Bit up against it today, so excuse our brevity, but thought you might like to check this new promo for series 9 of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation that recently aired in the States. And while we appreciate opinion may be divided on this, soppy fools that we are here at TV Spy, we’re rather thrilled to see Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) back in the arms of Grissom… Awww!

In the course of our investigations into the various CSI franchises we may have got a bit close with the magnifying glass… Can you tell which CSI is featured in each photo - and which city do they call home, Miami, Las Vegas or New York?

Huge CSI news | William Petersen is on his way out

William Petersen as Gil Grissom in CSI

American TV scoopmeister Michael Ausiello is reporting this morning that William Petersen is leaving CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

The 10th episode of the next series, due to air in the States in September, will be his last (for the forseeable future at least), and the show’s executive producer, Carol Mendelsohn, is promising a big send-off for Gil Grissom, who is struggling to cope following the shooting of Warrick in the final episode of the last series.

As previously reported, Grissom’s true love, Sara Sidle, played by Jorja Fox, will be returning to help Grissom through the crisis. The new series will also see the addition of two new regular cast members: Lauren Lee Smith as new CSI Riley Adams and an as-yet-unconfirmed actor as a professor with a background in pathology.

Mendelsohn also confirmed to Ausiello that the drama’s most infamous serial menace to date, the Miniature Killer, will be back for an episode.
