When’s it back? Sky1, Thursday 25 September
The last series of Bones ended quite abruptly, with the whole Gormogon thing neatly solved after Zack’s attempt to create a diversionary explosion blew his cover, along with half the lab, and we found out he’d been the skeleton-obsessed serial killer’s undercover apprentice all along. It was all a tad too hasty really and not overly convincing, so it’ll be good to start afresh with some new storylines.
The fact the first episode was shot in London is an absolute bonus – Booth cracking bad bobby jokes, stoic English people using even bigger words than Bones (and plenty of swear words, too) and, of course, a Mini thrown in for good measure. It’s almost as good as the classic Friends London episode, or the time The Simpsons visited and met Tony Blair.
On top of all that, there will be a new squint to replace Zack, introducing a different dynamic to the team. What I love about Bones is that it’s still one of those shows that manages to keep a lid on major denouments right up to the last moment, and the cast always seem to be having a good time making the show. Oh, and, of course, Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz, who make a great team on-screen and off.
Here are some fab clips from the first episode…
And for those of you who are truly fanatical, there are some behind the scenes clips after the jump…

hi heather, none of the clips are working…
Hmm - I guess Fox don’t like sharing their clips with YouTube! Let’s try something different…
