I ♥ David Boreanaz

David Boreanaz in Bones

OK, I’m going to admit it: I never watched the phenomena that were Buffy and Angel (cue gasps of horror in the office and the throwing of DVD screeners at my head), so I never really got what all the fuss was about David Boreanaz.

I know, I know. Where was I from 1997 to 2004? Answers on a postcard, please!

Now I’ve admitted that, I guess I can go the whole hog and also reveal I had also never watched Bones. (I should say at this point, that as a TV journo, I do actually watch TV – it’s just that I somehow managed to miss the three smash hit shows David Boreanaz has been in.)

However, I now think it was fate that I didn’t watch any of these shows at a younger age – because, if I had, I would never have gone out and wanted to stay in watching Boreanaz constantly.

Yes, this morning, I am David’s number one fan (not Misery-style, however, David, if you happen to be reading). After meeting the wonderfully talented and very beautiful Boreanaz on the set of Bones at the weekend, I am smitten – so smitten, in fact, I went home and watched the season one box-set and am currently working my way through the rest.

As previously reported here, Bones is going British for the opening episode of the fourth series and the cast and crew have been filming in London for the past three weeks.

The show’s creator, Hart Hanson, told TV Spy that the episode finds anthropologist Dr Temperance ‘Bones’ Brennan (Emily Deschanel) guest-lecturing at Oxford University and Booth speaking at Scotland Yard when they are asked by local officials to lend their expertise to a high-profile murder investigation involving a young heiress.

On a scorching hot day at a filming location in East London, David, dressed in his slick Booth suit and iconic Cocky belt buckle, said he was loving working in London and happily chatted about taking his six-year-old son Jaden on the Millennium Eye and on a boat cruise down the Thames.

He was filming scenes with Rome star Indira Varma and ex-Coronation Street star and Suranne Jones’ old flame, Jonathan Wrather, who played Weatherfield bad boy Joe Carter. He and Indira are just two of the British stars appearing in the London episode, with The Fixer’s Andrew Buchan also set to appear.

They filmed in Greenwich, the Guildhall and many other touristy locations. David said he also got to drive a mini and meet some Bobbies. I can’t wait to see Bones British-style.

Oh you lucky thing, you. I don’t care much for Angel or Buffy, but I’m in love with Bones. I’m glad you’re working your way through. Season 2 has been my favorite so far. Season 3 was great, too… despite the shocker Finale. I’m looking forward to Season 4. Boreanaz is definitely a great actor & good lookin’ too…

I second Milk Mama’s applause for your new found Bones love. I would recommend Angel as well, but you can skip Buffy if you’re purely into DB. Bones tops them both and I couldn’t possibly decide a favorite season for Bones. I love them all.

Nooo, don’t skip Buffy. DB just disappears at the end of season 3. If you want to see how dialogue and characters should be written, watch both shows. Oh and the comedy is good too.

  4. 4 Tracy

Aww, that’s a great story. I’m glad you’ve started watching “Bones”, it’s a great show!

Btw, whereabouts in London did you find them at the weekend?

Picking between the two, watch Angel! Definitely. Boreanaz is awesome in it, the dialogue is witty, storylines and clever and grown up.

I absolutely loved every minute of its five seasons while with Buffy I was bored a lot.

Congrats on your discovery of our wonderful David. I’m really jealous that you got to talk to him, but it’s awesome for you! I love all 3 seasons of Bones, but you should definitely watch Angel too. Buffy’s not required, but fun just the same.

Tracy, I understand David and Emily were filming near Moorgate and around the City.

What the hell is bobbies supposed to mean? That definition went out with the ark. Hope this episode is not going to degrade the English! I like the programme but I hope they’re not going to make fools out of us. We can do that well enough ourselves.

  9. 9 Chad

I’ve heard it’s going to be rip the English to pieces episode also. Let’s hope hey?

    I mean let’s hope not!!!

Bobbies are um what are they?? It should be cops shouldn’t it? Old bill sometimes used in London.
Yeah I heard the English ‘cops’ are going to look like retards and the Hanson guy said something on Fox site about Funny English People?? Does he mean Catherine Tate or does he mean we’re all strange??
Not good, think they should have stayed in US if the above is correct.
