Surprising good news from ITV2… Entourage will be back very, very soon!

ITV2 has had a somewhat erratic record when it comes to scheduling its American shows, pulling series off air mid-run and taking an eternity to get round to showing others (we’re now by our reckoning, two series of The Office behind America, for example).

But credit where it’s due, the powers that be  at the channel have really pulled their fingers out where the latest series of Entourage is concerned. The sixth series premieres on HBO in the States on Sunday 12 July and will then air here just four days later at 10pm on Thursday 16 July. Good work, guys!

Here’s a trailer from the States to get you in the mood…

Fangtastic news, folks… Not long to go now until True Blood starts in the UK!

Just a quick heads-up, but we have it on good authority that True Blood, the magnificent new vampire series from Six Feet Under creator Alan Ball, will be starting on FX in the middle of July. Not long to go now!

In the meantime, we thought you’d like this rather swanky half-hour featurette from HBO all about the show. Be warned, though: it contains some spoilers…

• Not willing to let go of the show without a fight, Give Me My Remote dedicated the week to Chuck. We had special features, polls, soundtrack listings and viewer testimony. Did you lend your voice? Here’s to hoping NBC orders a third season soon. (Give Me My Remote)

Rescue Me was back in fine form with its fifth season premiere. And as an added bonus: an Alex P. Keaton sighting. (Scooter McGavin’s 9th Green)

Lost’s new theme tune!

We’ve already had Battlestar Galactica in the style of a 1980s sitcom, now some clever soul has given Lost’s opening credits a similarly kitschy 1980s makeover, complete with a new theme tune…

See President Obama on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno…

President Barack Obama and Jay Leno

We’re more accustomed to writing about stupid stuff like this and this here at TV Spy, but we’re donning our grown-up serious hat this afternoon to bring you some quite exciting news of a rather special edition of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno that’s airing on the CNBC channel at 11pm tomorrow night (Friday 20 March).

The show, which airs in the US tonight, will see none other than US President Barack Obama make his first live sit-down appearance since becoming elected President. It is the first time a sitting US President has appeared on a late-night talk show and should, we reckon, make for a pleasing alternative to Friday Night With Jonathan Ross.

The show will be repeated on Saturday 21 March and Sunday 22 March at 8pm. CNBC can be seen on Sky channel number 505 and Virgin 613.

Not sure the great man will be doing this, but it should be worth checking out all the same.

As Ben mentioned earlier today, George Clooney popped up in last night’s episode of ER in America. We won’t get to see his episode for a few weeks here in the UK, but here are some clips for your delectation…
