It took a little while for it to really heat up, but Fringe certainly went out with a bang before it’s mid-season break. Suddenly lurching into a Lost-style time-and-space-travel mystery, the series transported an enigmatic bad guy from a German prison to an American forest and revealed that FBI agent Olivia may be more central to the Pattern than previous thought. And why was cyber-armed possible villainess Nina Sharp hanging out in London? Here are a couple of trailers for the next episode, which isn’t due until the end of January…

It’s another slow day for new episodes, so we’ve scoured Youtube for some more clips and promos of our favourite shows. Enjoy!
Brothers and Sisters
The Walkers return to More4 in January - but if you need your memory jogging about what happened in the first and and second series, check out this handy recap:
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
The original (and some might say best) of the CSIs returns to Five for its ninth series in January. Warrick!! Nooooooooo! But look who’s back…
Eli Stone
The first series has just wrapped up - but if you missed any episodes and want to be up to speed in preparation for the show’s return to Sci-Fi in January, here’s another of those handy recaps:
Here’s a sneak peek of the episode 17 of Prison Break, worryingly entitled R.I.P., seeing as how we have to wait to an undisclosed time in “spring” for the series to return. And with Gretchen now out of the way, Michael has a new nemesis to face - Linc! And what is the brothers’ supposedly dead mom up to? Roll on “spring”.
A slow week for new episodes of our favourite shows as series wind down and we get ready for new ones. In the meantime, here are some clips we’ve found to keep you entertained while you wait! Enjoy…
CSI: Miami
A compilation of Horatio’s best one-liners from series six, which ended last week. The man must lie awake at night (while wearing his sunglasses, probably) thinking these up…
And here’s a classic clip of Jim Carrey’s impression of the great man on Letterman:
Damages
It’s back on BBC1 in February and we’ve found another trailer…
1. The new season of Flight of the Conchords has premiered online - but not for us non-Americans. For shame.
2. Ugly Betty’s Betty is set to get a mysterious new love interest.
3. Lauren Velez (Dexter’s Lt Laguerta) is also set for a run on Ugly Betty.
4. Alex ‘Dr Corday’ Kingston is to return for a guest stint in the final season of ER.
5. I09 has some pretty in-depth spoilers for the next few episodes of Heroes.
6. Some super-wicked Lost postcards are doing the rounds.
7. New 24 geek Janis (Janine Garafalo) is set to come to blows with Chloe in season seven.
8. Titanic baddie Billy Zane is coming to Samantha Who.
9. Balthazar Getty may be getting the axe from Brothers and Sisters.
10. Pushing Daisies‘ Kristen Chenoweth (Olive) has got a new gig in David E Kelley’s new series Legally Mad (which sounds curiously like Ally McBeal/Boston Legal)…
11. It’s official - Michael ‘George Michael’ Cera is what’s holding up the Arrested Development movie.
Another day, another new trailer for Lost series five - and more pertinent questions to ask. Why is Desmond fleeing from Penny and what appears to be their newborn baby? Is Charlotte dead? Why is Sun pulling a gun on Kate? Who is Sayid going to murder? And does Locke think he’s appearing in The 39 Steps? Here we go again…
9pm, Sanctuary, ITV4
In the first of a two-part episode, the penultimate of the series, Magnus enlists Druitt and the rest of the Five group to stop the spread of an airborne virus that is causing abnormals to randomly attack humans. Druitt tells Magnus that the Cabal are behind the terrifying events, a statment confirmed by the leader of the UK sanctuary Sir James Weston. Time to get to work…
9pm, CSI: Miami, Living
If you’re pining for Horatio and the gang after the shocking conclusion to series six, here’s something to cheer you up: Living are repeating series five from the beginning. In this opener, H and Delko head to Rio to track down the killer of Marisol, sister of the latter and (briefly) wife of the former. Back in Miami, Wolfe reluctantly works with new CSI Natalia Boa Vista on the case of a woman found dead in her own home.
10pm, Lipstick Jungle, Living
When a nervous Nico meets Kirby’s mother Tina (guest star Rosanna Arquette) in this episode, she’s surprised to realise how much she has in common with Tina. Is this a good or a bad thing? Meanwhile, Victory needs Joes help winning a contract, and Wendy gets jealous when Shane signs with an attractive new manager.
Sat, 7pm, King of the Hill, FX
Another mini-marathon of new episodes begins with Joseph becoming the star quarterback at his school. Next up, Peggy plans a disco-themed party on a train for her birthday, followed by an episode in which Bobby works as a deputy for the school’s police officer. Rounding things off is an episode in which Hank’s attempts to spend more time with Bobby backfire somewhat.
Sat, 6.30pm, The Simpsons, Sky1
The Simpsons has always attracted a big-name guest star or two, as a few of tonight’s episodes demonstrate. In the 6.30 episode, Zooey Deschanel (Elf, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy) voices Bart’s new love interest, while at 7.00 there’s a chance to see the 400th episode, featuring Ludacris as himself. At 7.30, it’s guest star central with Meg Ryan, Peter Bogdanovich, Andy Dick and Steven Sondheim all lending their vocal talents.
Sun, 9pm, South Park, Paramount
Two-and-a-half hours of South Park kick off with Cartman dressing up as a Japanese robot and delivering himself to Butters in an attempt to embarrass the poor boy. At 9.30 there’s a chance to see the first-ever episode, in which the boys investigate when Kyle’s brother is abducted by aliens - with unfortunate consequences for Cartman. And check out the episode at 10.30, which features unlikely guest stars Radiohead.
Sun, 9pm, Burn Notice, FX
The first series comes to an end tonight, with Michael launching a daring bid to rescue the kidnapped Sam. As if that wasn’t exciting enough, he ups the drama by by giving himself up to the government agency trying to trace him in the hopes that they’ll say why he was fired. Surely it can’t be that easy? You’ll have to wait a while to find out - Burn Notice returns to FX in the autumn. The suspense!
Sun, 10pm, John from Cincinnati, FX
In this episode of the mysterious drama series, Ramon (Luis Guzmán) oversees a construction project at the motel, Palaka seeks medical treatment from Dr Smith after a new tattoo develops a terrible infection, and Linc (Luke Perry) is perturbed to find his authority at Stinkweed being threatened.
What better way to celebrate Christmas than with American television’s finest - Kermit the Frog, Fozzy Bear and the Swedish Chef?
Hope your holiday is all warm and fuzzy, and remember - careful on the icy patch!
5.30pm, Friends, E4
We’ve picked a few suitably festive episodes of our favourite shows today, starting with a classic Friends double bill. In the first episode, from season two, nobody is feeling very festive when Monica’s radiator breaks and things get a little overheated. Monica is also in trouble when she attempts to replace cash Christmas tips with home-made cookies - a move which does not go down well with the recipients. A season three episode follows, in which Joey gets a job selling Christmas trees - but Phoebe is upset when she learns of the Fargo-esque fate that befalls the imperfect trees…
10pm, Bones, Sky1
Nothing says Christmas like investigating the murder of a department-store Santa, which is how poor old Brennan and Booth are spending the festive season. The dead man, who was discovered by two elves, turns out to have the appropriate name of Kris Kringle - just the first in a string of clues that suggest he might be the real deal…
10.30pm, American Dad! FX
Bah humbug - no Christmas-tree lights for the residents of Langley Falls this year. Stan blames this outrage on Jane Fonda, so when a visit from the Ghost of Christmas Past takes him on a trip back to 1970 he decides to find and kill the actress. Unfortunately, Stan inadvertently changes a few other things - with the result that he returns to a radically different present…
