A young man enters a magical kingdom to retrieve a falling star for his beloved in the fairytale comedy adventure Stardust, which comes out in a Blu-ray special edition on Monday 1st February.

Directed by Matthew Vaughan (whose eagerly awaited action comedy Kick-Ass comes out in April) and based on the bestselling graphic novel by Neil Gaiman and Charles Vess, Stardust didn’t get the attention it deserved when it came out in 2007, but those who did get to see this “adult fairytale” were thoroughly charmed.

The story begins in Victorian England but soon moves into a more magical realm when shop assistant Tristan Thorn (Charlie Cox) enters the fairy kingdom of Stormhold to retrieve a fallen star for his beloved Victoria (Sienna Miller). But the star has taken the form of a young woman called Yvaine (Claire Danes) and their return journey to the real world is filled with dangers.

Along the way, Tristan encounters four rival princes, an evil witch (Michelle Pfeiffer), and a cross-dressing pirate named Captain Shakespeare (Robert De Niro) and eventually discovers the meaning of true love.
