Ridley Scott gives us his typically muscular take on the War on Terror with Body of Lies, a political action thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe as strategically and temperamentally opposed CIA men. DiCaprio’s the agent in the field with a feel for Arab culture; Crowe’s the paunchy desk jockey who knows how Washington works.

Yet when DiCaprio’s agent concocts a fake Islamist terrorist cell in a bid to track down a shadowy terrorist mastermind, it’s the meddling of Crowe’s wily strategist that threatens to scupper the plan and puts his life on the line.
